Are you interested in shaping the socio-economic development of Africa? Would you like to contribute to the transformative agenda of the continent?

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) is one of the five regional commissions established by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) topromote the economic and social development, intra-regional integration, and international cooperation for Africa’s development.

UNECA is positioned to establish itself as a powerhouse of econometrics that supports policy guidance for accelerated socio-economic transformation of the continent. The Commission’s operations are rapidly expanding to support its African Centre for Statistics and Member States with macroeconomic and social policies development and natural resources management in Addis Ababa and its five sub-regional offices.

It will also augment the activities of the African Climate Policy Centre, African Centre for Gender, Land Policy Institute and African Mineral Development Centre.

  • Social media

Climate Policy, Land and Mineral Development

Natural resource contract negotiations

  • Climate, climate adaptation, climate change governance
  • Agricultural economics, forestry, land policy
  • Mineral development policy

Social Development Policy

  • Population and youth
  • Gender and development
  • Economics of urbanization
  • Employment and labour market
