NAIROBI, Kenya– AfricanBrains announced today that Microsoft, the worldwide leader in technology and software development, is the Main Event Partner for this year’s Innovation Africa Summit 2016 to be held on the 20th – 22nd September.
As the Main Event Partner, Microsoft is looking to build partnerships that design solutions in the education sector with technology and the power that the cloud brings, through the Innovation Africa platform that has over 200 government officials comprising of ministers, secretaries of state, deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, and director generals from over 30 countries.
Microsoft, the front runner in software solutions, works with governments, communities, schools and educators to use the power of information technology to deliver services and programs that provide learning for all, anytime, anywhere. Microsoft believes an educated population is the one natural resource that increases in value as it increases in size.
“We’re seeing a shift in the way we think about our education systems, based on intuitive nature with which the youth interacts with technology and the dramatic evolution we’re seeing in the 21st century workplace. In addition, the burgeoning youth population across Africa means we need to find a way to more effectively reach a greater number of students. Simultaneously, we need to allow them to learn in their own unique way, anytime, anyplace and at their own pace. Cloud computing, provision of devices to allow for immersive, mobile learning environments and teacher training are all contributing to this evolution and Innovation Africa is the perfect platform to discuss these solutions.” Commented Mark Chaban – Education Director, Microsoft Middle East and Africa
In addition to Microsoft, Innovation Africa 2016 has the privilege of hosting an even more striking array of industry titans than it has in past years. Notable partners of the 2015 Summit included HP, Intel and IBM who spoke of the solutions, connectivity and networking opportunities the Summit provides. It is a great platform where all the industry players in Africa can evaluate the education system as a region and design solutions that will benefit the many unique students for 21st century learning.
“This is a unique opportunity to discuss with the decision-makers at the highest level. In two days we held 17 pre-scheduled meetings back-to-back.” Andrea Emiliani – Business Development, IBM.
As proof of the Summit’s method of raising a company’s profile and maximizing its exposure, partners and sponsors backing the 2016 summit include but are not limited to Huawei, Bi-Bright, Inspur, JP-IK, Positivo BGH and Teachers Media International with repeat support from Intel, Oracle, Samsung and many others.
