Tobge Afede is also the traditional ruler of the Asogli State in the Volta Region, from which position he set up and chairs the Volta Region Development Agency.

Togbe earned a BSc in Administration (Accounting) from the University of Ghana and proceeded to do his national service at the Bank for Housing and Construction, performing financial analysis of loan applications, and working with clients to fashion short- and long-term loans and financial packages. As a pioneer, Togbe played a critical role in the development of Ghana’s capital markets including developing and publishing the first ever stock market indices in 1991.

Togbe Afede serves on a number of boards in the public and private sector, among Aluworks Ltd, an aluminium rolling mill listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE); the Bank of Ghana; and Trans Africa Telecom Ltd, which is seeking a unified telecommunications system for
West Africa.
